The company is a national excellence with a global presence, and Eoptis is proud to collaborate with it
Astori Tecnica is a standout company from the Brescia area, and its history embodies the dynamism of Italy’s finest manufacturing. Founded in 1959, it has never stopped growing and innovating. While specializing in high‑quality products and instruments for agri‑food analysis laboratories, it also operates in other strategic sectors such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and environmental testing. The company has a presence on all five continents — from Japan to Kenya, from the United States to Australia — supported by a widespread network of distributors. It boasts a team of sixteen people and a steadily growing turnover, despite intense international competition.
Astori Tecnica is one of the partners of Eoptis — a tech company specializing in machine vision and production quality‑control processes. To learn more about this dynamic company from the Brescia area, we spoke with its general manager, Fabio Marchi — originally from Milan and with a background in the chemical‑pharmaceutical field.
The conversation
Tell us about Astori Tecnica.
Astori Tecnica has grown significantly over the decades. In the beginning, we sold only products and instruments for university laboratories. Over time, we greatly expanded our scope and began supplying products and scientific instruments of our own design and manufacture to analysis laboratories, primarily in the agri‑food sector.
More recently, we have entered other high‑potential sectors such as pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, and cosmetics. In the past few years, we have also built a network of specialized international distributors to expand our global reach. Today, we can say that we have distributors all over the world — a network of roughly one hundred highly skilled and capable partners.

In addition to producing cutting‑edge technology, does Astori Tecnica also import from abroad?
Exactly — the company manufactures, but doesn’t limit itself to manufacturing. It also imports, sometimes with exclusive distribution rights for Italy or, in certain cases, for Europe. And of course, it distributes top‑tier Italian technology, including Eoptis products.

Let’s talk about the synergy with Eoptis. How did it come about?
Well, we distribute Eoptis colorimeters for the agri‑food sector, and your products are truly innovative. We were first struck by the CLM‑194. Thanks to this instrument, we were able to enter the agri‑food market with a tool that offers distinctive features and decisive advantages — not only in terms of price, but above all in terms of performance and application flexibility. Then came the CLM‑196, an evolution of the CLM‑194, and today, thanks to these two products, we can fully meet the color‑measurement needs of the entire agri‑food sector.

Why might an agri‑food company be interested in color measurement?
To establish a consistent standard for its food product — or for packaging that needs to maintain the same color over time. In the dairy sector, which is strategic for us, color analysis makes it possible to verify and optimize the characteristic whiteness of dairy products. Other types of analysis are more urgent, of course, such as those related to food safety.
What do you appreciate about Eoptis?
Its strong level of innovation and its commitment to always offering customizable, highly competitive products — and not only in terms of price. When we asked Eoptis to provide their first colorimeter, the CLM‑194, with an eyepiece specifically tailored to our needs, they delivered it very quickly. They have always been able to supply us in record time, they have a powerful drive for innovation, and above all, a genuine passion for their work.
.
When did the relationship with Eoptis begin?
About six years ago, and since then our relationship has consistently been built on collaboration and mutual respect.
