MAIA M2<\/strong> is a modular multispectral camera offering an excellent price-performance ratio and optimized for civilian drone operations in precision agriculture and environmental monitoring applications.<\/p>\n

It consists of two image sensors with 1.2\u2011megapixel resolution, each dedicated to capturing a specific band in the visible spectrum (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) region, covering the 395\u2013950 nm range.<\/p>\n

Its compact size and limited weight of just 59g allow it to be integrated even on drones with limited payload capacity. There are 16 versions of MAIA M2 available, with pairs of bands aligned with those of the WorldView-2 and Sentinel-2<\/strong> satellites. Up to three cameras can be combined to create a matrix of six synchronized sensors, enabling the calculation of a broad set of widely used multispectral indices. This makes it ideal for the most advanced precision agriculture and environmental monitoring applications<\/strong>, where image ground resolution and data quality are critical parameters. <\/p>\n

MAIA M2 can operate autonomously or be connected to an external GNSS receiver for shots with precise georeferencing. Furthermore, thanks to global shutter sensors, synchronized acquisition, and factory\u2011calibrated lenses, images are free from motion artifacts and suitable for precisely georeferenced image capture. <\/p>\n

The optimal exposure time for each sensor is calculated automatically, and the user can adjust the image brightness across three levels using the camera button. Images and parameters are saved on a removable MicroSD card in lossless RAW format at 8\u2011 or 12\u2011bit per pixel resolution. The MicroSD card can also be accessed via the USB interface without removing it from the camera. <\/p>\n

The MultiCam Pro software for data preprocessing is included in the MAIA package<\/strong>: it allows you to generate a multi-layer image from each capture containing all the bands aligned with single-pixel accuracy. With MultiCam Pro, you can also quickly calculate both standard agronomic indices (NDVI, NDRE, GNDVI, SAVI, etc.) and user-defined indices. Images can be exported in TIFF format for further analysis with third-party software. <\/p>\n
